Abstract
LaNbTiO6 and LaNbTiO6:Eu3+ samples were synthesized by solid state reaction. The XRD patterns suggested that the doping Eu3+ ion will not change the structure of LaNbTiO6 host. Under the 273 nm UV excitation, LaNbTiO6 samples showed a single emission band peaking at about 483 nm, and LaNbTiO6:Eu3+ samples showed emission bands originating from the host and characteristic emission bands of Eu3+. Tunable luminescence color from blue through yellow to red can be obtained by changing Eu3+ concentration in LaNbTiO6:Eu3+ system. The tunable luminescence is induced by the energy transfer from the Ti(Nb)O6 groups of host to Eu3+ ions.
