Abstract
In this work, a method (marked as MCT1) to simplify the production process of MgTiO3–CaTiO3 ceramics was investigated. For the MCT1, MgTiO3–CaTiO3 ceramics were prepared by using the MgO, CaCO3 and TiO2 powders without preparing MgTiO3 and CaTiO3. For the traditional method (marked as MCT2), the CaTiO3 and MgTiO3 powders were firstly synthesized and then mixed to prepare MgTiO3–CaTiO3 ceramics. The MCT1 inhibited the formation of MgTi2O5 phase and improved the sintering behavior of ceramics, which resulted in the improvement of microwave dielectric properties for MgTiO3–CaTiO3 ceramics. The good microwave dielectric properties of e r = 19.4, Q × f = 101,951 GHz, and τ f = −15 ppm/°C were obtained for MCT1 ceramics.
