Abstract
Use of the solid state nuclear track detector methods for the experimental study of neutron physical characteristics of nuclear reactors has been developed in the Nuclear Power Engineering Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. A series of solid state nuclear track detectors has been tested and two of them have been chosen: artificial mica for detection of fission fragments and cellulose triacetate for detection of α-particles. The basic neutron field characteristics of both fast and thermal reactors have been obtained by this method.
