Abstract
Results obtained by solid-state 23Na MAS n.m.r. spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and i.r. spectroscopy show that contact-induced ion exchange occurs at ambient temperature in mechanical mixtures of, for example, LiCl, KCl, BeCl 2, or CaCl 2, and hydrated NaY zeolite.
