Abstract Single crystal fluorescence spectra of 5 macrocyclic anthraceno-cryptands (Ann) or crown-ethers (AAnn) and of 2 of their metal cation complexes (Tl+c A22 and 2Na+c AA55) were discussed in relation with their molecular and crystal structures.
