Abstract

Abstract Bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan (PGN) is a major innate immunostimulant of bacteria and an important antibiotic target. Chemically prepared PGN fragments are indispensable for the investigation of their function. In this research, the PGN fragments containing acid- and base-labile functional groups were practically synthesized by utilizing a newly developed solid-phase method employing the JandaJel™ Wang resin.
