Abstract

In the Fe-Cr3C2-Mo2C system the carbides rapidly dissolve, with the formation of a γ-solid solution characterized by a very uniform distribution of the alloying elements and carbon. The powder metallurgy method has made it possible to obtain a single-phase alloy containing 8.5% Mo, 8% Cr, and 1.5–1.7% C.
