Abstract

United Technologies Research Center is developing solid oxide fuel cell stack and system technologies. Our stack development is guided by comprehensive techno economic studies and system gap analyses. The effort is principally focused on stack design and component technologies for large stationary power generation applications, to address scale up, durability and cost challenges. Recent progress on interconnect alloys and coatings, cathode interfacial materials and glass seal materials will be reported. Our system development effort is focused on system integration and prototype validation. Highlights from recent 1-2 kW system testing will be presented.
