Abstract

(Solid + liquid) phase diagrams have been constructed for tetrachloromethane + furan (C 4H 4O), +pyridine (C 5H 5N), and + N-methylpyrrole (C 5H 7N). Addition compounds do not form in { xCCl 4 + (1 − x)C 4H 4O}. In { xCCl 4 + (1 − x)C 5H 5N}, a non-stoichiometric congruently melting compound forms with the maximum in the melting curve at x = 0.634. In { xCCl 4 + (1 − x)C 5H 7N}, a congruently melting compound forms with the empirical formula CCl 4 · C 5H 7N. An incongruently melting compound also forms with the empirical formula CCl 4 · (C 5H 7N) 2. Solid solutions form in all three systems and are especially evident in { xCCl 4 + (1 − x)C 5H 5N}.
