Abstract
Vortex-shaped gliding arc plasma (VGAP) reactor is improved adding the proper amount of CH 4 and optimizing reactor structure. After improvement, the arc structure of VGAP is clearly distinguished to arc core and arc sheath. The improved VGAP can provide a new way for solid hazardous waste treatment and material modification to some extent, on the basis of its good effects and lower energy cost in comparison with the thermal plasma.
