Abstract

Introduction: In military human performance literature, improved effectiveness of training programs and more interventions for soldier physical performance are becoming increasingly prevalent. Programs and interventions focusing on maintaining high overall wellbeing have also become high priorities. Essential to the effective implementation of these military programs is the ability to adequately monitor soldier training loads and psychophysiological status. However, validated systems for monitoring soldier status during training are not prolific within peer reviewed empirical research. Conversely, studies of human factors, training methods, and equipment, which have monitored soldiers over the course of testing are more frequently published. The aim of this project was to review the existing empirical literature to identify reported methods of physical, physiological, psychological, and wellbeing monitoring employed within a training context in military or occupationally similar personnel. Presented here are preliminary results of title and abstract screening from empirical peer reviewed research during a systematic scoping review.
