Abstract
Abbanuangnge village in Wajo, Indonesia was chosen as a case study to represent solar water pumping for irrigation of paddy-field in a remote area where there is no access to electricity from the main grid. The triple bottom line analysis for the renewable energy options for paddy-field irrigation in Abbanuangnge Village is conducted. A model is developed using HOMER software to calculate the technical performance of system as well as economic and environmental analysis. An economic analysis was also performed in this study including the payback period and levelised cost of electricity calculation. Results showed that 15 kWp off-grid solar water pumping system is able to run 11 kW of water pump for 12 hours each day in Abbanuangnge village with three different scenarios. First scenario (system 1) is solar water pumping system without diesel generator and battery system, system 2 is solar water pumping system with diesel generator, and system 3 is solar water pumping system with diesel generator and battery system. First scenario will have a high financial and environmental attractive result compared to others. Meanwhile, system 3 is good in technical and social impact.
