Abstract

This paper deals with the geomagnetic field measurement by integrated sensor based on principle of anisotropic magnetoresistivity (AMR). The geomagnetic field measurements require very precise instrumentation which is mostly spacious. On the other hand, the chosen magnetometer — HMC5883L — is very tiny but suffers from lower resolution and high noise floor. The objective is to examine possibility of geomagnetism investigation made by an integrated widespread magnetometer, to evaluate its precision and to detect some outer space events by geomagnetism observations. There was proposed and constructed measuring device including AMR chip. The measuring device including the AMR chip was proposed and produced. A long-term measurement was recorded in collaboration with the geomagnetic observatory Budkov, Czech Republic (Institute of Geophysics of the CAS, v. v. i.; INTERMAGNET). The post-processing was designed in order to suppress sensor noise and temp-drift. The post-processing used was standardized by INTERMAGNET especially for geomagnetic observatories. Finally, with the constructed device there were detected the day-night variations of the Earth magnetic field and a solar storm of 4th grade of k-index.
