Abstract

This paper analyzes the spatial distribution of different soil types and soil systematic units in MU ?Doroslovacke sume?. The most common soil type is chernozem, primarily of calcalourus type. Research has shown that the soil types secondary in prevalance are calcalourus gleyed and brownized, which is a finding that significantly differs from the previously available data. Calcalourus variety of chernozem, which is characterized by its automorphic genesis and high content of CaCO3, is a drier site type and therefore offers less favourable conditions for cultivation of tree species. The analysys of spacial distribution was followed by study of soil properties.

Summary

Introduction

Spatial analysis of soil types distribution in management units in Serbia has been relatively slightly studied. The available data on spatial distribution of soil, collected in research so far, indicates only to small extent the real production potential in management units. Mapping of the soil potential presents an opportunity to improve forest management by defining site conditions (Galić et al, 2015, Galić et al, 2017) and selection of tree species optimal for the defined conditions (To m i ć , 1992, I va nišević et al, 1999, I va n i š ev i ć et al, 2008, Gal i ć, 2003, 2011). Out of halomorphic order soil types, the one that stands out with potentialy poor production characteristics is solonetz (I va nišević et al, 2006, 2008, Galić , 2003, 2011, 2017)
