Abstract

Abstract On deteriorated campsites in east Texas (seasonal) winter or year-round closure significantly decreased soil bulk density, but rototilling with the addition of bark or wood chips produced the greatest decrease. Rototilling alone was ineffective. Planting winter grasses reduced surface erosion and fluctuations in density.
