Abstract

In several substations, software interlocking is embedded in the substation control system (SCS), and the task of refurbishing these legacy SCS poses major challenges when outages are given on a phased, bay by bay manner. Replacing the SCS in an environment with an integral software interlocking feature requires that the new software interlocking scheme be implemented in an effective manner, without disturbing the integrity of the existing software interlocking scheme.
