Abstract

Work on developing new software tools for monitoring and controlling the VEPP-5 damping-ring (DR) operation with upgraded stations of beam-position sensors is in progress. Using them, the DR can be calibrated using its theoretical model, the beam orbit can be steered and locally distorted, the linac-beam capture into the DR can be simulated, and a number of other tasks can be performed. This paper reports the initial results of the DR calibration based on its numerical model and of the measurements of its parameters obtained using the already-available codes of the software toolkit.
