Software Exploratory Testing: Present, Problem and Prospect

Abstract

Exploratory testing can be used as a beneficial supplement for traditional script testing, but software industry has long praised or criticized its applications. Summarizes the current development and application status of exploratory testing in domestic and abroad, and puts forward the key problems of exploratory testing activities in Agile environment: testing in-depth selection issues, test time and method for selecting and flexible application of issues in unit testing. Prospects for several breakthrough directions for the research of exploratory tests: developing iterative-based automated test cases from the perspective of white box testing, development of Graphical User Interface (GUI) testing tool for exploratory testing and document standardization management in exploratory testing activities.
