Abstract

A software design of Machine Vision detection system based on virtual instrument has been completed, which could measure several geometry parameters of one micro-component without touching anything simultaneity. Its hardware consisted of image acquisition card, CCD camera, illumination power, rotary workbench and locomotion controller. And this project involved the virtual instrument platform LabWindows/CVI as the software developed tools to design the modules of the system including the image acquisition module, the image processing module, the position detecting module of the components, and the interface of the system that allowed the interaction between the PC and the users. The data-base which was used to store and manage the results was developed by SQL Toolkit. In addition, the system resolved the drive problem of non-NI' s image acquisition card. Via the using of colorimetry, the random disturbance of the system was overcome and the precision of the measurement was improved. This method has already been applied in a technical measurement system and it worked very well.
