Abstract

Software defined network is a promising network paradigm that can provide flexible routing, energy saving and smart management for wireless sensor network. In this paper, we compare clustering algorithms with SDN paradigm in terms of energy efficiency in WSN. The simulation results show that the SDN approach improves energy efficiency in WSN and outperforms almost all classical clustering protocols. After that, we present a simulation of RPL protocol using CONTIKI simulator.
