Abstract

Although the point patterns analysis is not a new area of study, it maintains its validity by allowing the analysis of different kinds of phenomena from a spatial perspective through various methods. Among the existing point pattern analysis methods there are some focused on the analysis on networks spaces, defined as linear subspaces contained within the two-dimensional Euclidean spaces. An example of network space is the one composed by the road network within a city or region. Over these network spaces there can be made analysis of phenomena such as traffic accidents and crimes. The present work focuses on the development of a software solution that implements two of these methods, the network K function and NetKDE, and its application on traffic accidents occurring during 2014 in the cities of Bucaramanga (Colombia) and Barcelona (Spain).
