Abstract
Soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) has been measured for ferromagnetic uranium monochalcogenides U X c ( X c = S, Se and Te) and UFe 2 . By applying the orbital and spin sum rules to the XMCD results, some trend has been found for the relationship between the ratio Β΅ L /Β΅ S and the total magnetic moment.
