Abstract

The results presented cover a series of alloys, namely Li dissolved in HCP Mg up to about 15 at.% Li. Concentration-dependent changes in the edges of both components are observed along with changes in the gross form of the bands. At all concentrations studied the emission from Li dissolved in Mg exhibits none of the effects due to incomplete phonon relaxation which are believed to be responsible for the apparently anomalous shape of the high-energy edge of the K emission from pure Li metal.
