Abstract

A 48-year-old man had recurrent episodes of ipsilateral pain and diffuse swelling over the left lower thigh and calf, associated with dilated veins and pitting edema. Deep-vein thrombosis was suspected and radionuclide venogram was performed using Tc-99m RBC Imaging. The blood pool scintigram demonstrated diffuse accumulation of RBC in the soft tissues of the left lower thigh, suggestive of a soft-tissue mass and associated with features of venous stasis In the calf. The soft-tissue mass was found to be a primary malignant lymphoma by subsequently obtained biopsy specimens.
