Abstract

ABSTRACT Dwyka age glacial grooves previously described as glacial striations in sandstones of the upper Table Mountain Group are interpreted herein as soft-sediment grooves in a thin veneer of periglacial sandstone. Evidence for this interpretation includes the width and depth of the grooves, contemporaneous slump fans in the larger grooves, and overflow disturbances from adjacent grooves.
