Abstract

Pions loops are computed explicitly in a bosonized version of the SU(2) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model in a power series expansion of the pion mass and momentum, with the ratio m 2 / p 2 kept fixed. The result can be expressed as an effective classical lagrangian which resembles the one used in chiral perturbation theory including the unitarity correction. Pion loops, although suppressed in 1/ N c turn out to induce sizeable corrections. The outcoming low energy coefficients compare well with experiment.
