Abstract

Soft-Contact Acoustic Microgripper In the article number 2104579, Jixiao Liu, Tiejun Li, and co-workers utilize a controllable vibrating bubble gripper to realize noninvasive multi-micromanipulations. The gas-liquid interface oscillation excited by acoustic energy imposes coupled radiation force and drag force on the target micro-bioentities for capturing and transportation. The flow velocity gradient generated by the streaming flow is utilized to rotate the immobilized micro-object. It can be a powerful tool in 3D micromanipulation, 3D imaging of biological objects, and 3D cell mechanical properties analysis.
