Abstract

An intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell based on perovskite-type materials was tested. La 0.9Sr 0.1Ga 0.8Mg 0.2O 2.85 (LSGM) was used as electrolyte, Ba 0.5Sr 0.5Co 0.8Fe 0.2O 3− δ (BSCF) as cathode and La 0.75Sr 0.25Cr 0.5Mn 0.5O 3− δ (LSCM) as anode material. The maximum power density value of the BSCF/LSGM/LSCM cell with 1.5 mm thick electrolyte was 160 mW cm − 2 at 1073 K, using moistened H 2 diluted with N 2 as fuel and air as oxidant.
