Abstract
To the Editor .—After having read several articles on the effects of sodium fluoride on otosclerotic bone, the most recent being in the Journal of the American Medical Association ( 208 :969-973 [June 10] 1968), I was wondering if you would recommend its use in an individual with severely advanced otosclerosis (surgically proven) accompanied by severe sensorineural deafness. Stapedectomy improved the air conduction to at least measurable levels (90 to 95 db); preoperatively there was no measurable air conduction or bone conduction.
