Abstract

This research aims to conduct a socioeconomic study of the cocoa production chain in the province of Esmeraldas through a descriptive analysis from 2016 to 2021, using primary sources from the Agricultural Public Information System (SIPA) database. According to the type of study, it was carried out in a cross-sectional manner since the data of variables obtained in a specific period of time were analyzed to establish fundamental particularities such as: standard deviation, kurtosis, and ranges. To determine the price and production of cocoa, it was developed through histograms, time series, and correlations to obtain detailed data and thus know the link between the variables under study.
