Socio-economic Empowerment Index: Evidence from Pakistan

Abstract

For estimation of rural household’s socioeconomic empowerment an index has been developed in current study. Current study based on first hand data which collected through household survey from division Bahawalpur and 600 household were interviewed for sample size. Weights of the indicator variables have been computed by using Principal Component Method. Thirty eight indicator variables were used for construction an index for socioeconomic empowerment of rural households.
