Abstract

Background and Aims: According to the World Health Organization, over 60 million people have diabetes in Europe, while its prevalence is steadily rising. The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of socio-economic and environmental characteristics of the residential area on the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in men and women living in the Athens metropolitan area.
