Abstract

President Hitzman, distinguished guests, members and friends of the Society: I am honored today to present Thomas A. Loucks as the 2004 recipient of the Ralph W. Marsden Award. He then worked for three years as a business development analyst for Newmont Mining in New York. In 1988, he joined Denver-based Royal Gold, and over the following 11 years, held increasingly responsible management positions leading to Executive Vice President-Chief Financial Officer. He is currently President-CEO of Trend Mining Company. Now, you’ll have to bear with me as I attempt to highlight Tom’s record of service to the Society and his accomplishments, which are interwoven with a number of major developments in the Society over the past 15 years.
