Abstract

• The first, you won’t be surprised to know, has to do with issues of oppressive difference that increasingly challenge congregations and call for courageous and articulate public theological efforts. • The second has to do with the emerging dramatic shifts in patterns of congregational leadership in old line Protestant congregations that challenge us to give careful attention to effective ways to educate women and men who are alternatively credentialed for ministry or not credentialed, but who volunteer to offer pastoral care.
