Abstract
Based on the analysis of the data of sociological research and evaluation of physical activity, the features of free time structure, preferred motives, and factors influencing the choice of types of physical recreation in different population groups have been determined. The common and distinctive features in the motivational sphere and forms of recreational activity are identified in different age groups of people in the leisure time. The socio-psychological determinants of recreational and health-improving activities are revealed in people of different ages.

Дослідження змістовного наповнення дозвілля відкриває значні можливості для оновлення, збагачення та актуалізації рекреаційної діяльності відповідно до реальних запитів різних соціальнодемографічних груп [9, 10, 13]. Вирішення проблеми відношення до занять фізичною рекреацією різних соціальних груп є досить складним [6].
