Abstract

Kate van Heugten is a lecturer in the Department of Social Work at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. Dr van Heugten completed her Ph.D. in 1999, under the guidance of Associate Professor Ken Daniels, also of the Department of Social Work. Her research interests centre on profesional and workplace issues, including modes of transmission of ideas in interprofessional teams, workplace transition, and factors affecting the maintenance of social work identity. Ken Daniels is Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. His major research area is the psychosocial issues associated with assisted human reproduction, and in particular donor insemination. He has published extensively in this field.
