Abstract

Reviews important transition in value premises and theoretical bases of multicultural social work, and shows some of the practitioners' responses to that transition. These responses and their implications for practice are examined around four major dimensions of the helping process: practice goals, needs assessment and intervention focus, strategies and skills, and programs and service delivery. Raises issues, pointing out controversies, priorities, gaps, problems and priorities in our continued quest for knowledge, skills, and methods of competent practice in multicultural environments.
