Abstract

Abstract Social work theories serve as the foundation for social work practice by providing an understanding, explanation, and prediction of human behavior and social structures. Seven general categories of theories used in social work practice are reviewed and their relevance to the stages of social work practice of assessment, intervention, evaluation, and endings are discussed.
