Abstract

The need for social work arises in the context of the emergence of social and personal problems. Performing this role, like any other professional job, requires the employee to have appropriate knowledge, skills and competences. Moreover, this type of work assumes that a social worker has certain characterological traits. They are: empathy, easy contact with others, respect for other people and selflessness. Only having such character traits, a social worker can effectively fulfill his role.
