Abstract

Here is one counselor's attempt to reduce to simple and useful terms some of the implications for guidance found in her study of the recent literature of social and economic trends. In a series of brief statements she sets forth a number of important tendencies noted by authoritative writers; then after each such statement she presents a few suggestions regarding its significance for vocational guidance. Of course the subject of social, economic, and vocational trends is so vast and complicated, and further research is so greatly needed, that the author makes no pretense to final authority, but we are sure that our readers will find the outline helpful as it stands and some will doubtless be moved to construct similar summaries as a tool for use in their own counseling or teaching work.
