Abstract

This study attempts to identify the causal predictors of subjective well-being among Vietnamese refugees in the United States. Path analysis is used to test the causal influences of variables posited to affect well-being in the hypothesized causal model. Social support, social interaction anxiety, family income, and marital status were found to have significant direct effects on Vietnamese refugees' sense of well-being. Overall, the causal model explained 30 percent of variance in subjective well-being.
