Abstract

Abstract India's humanity is at the crossroads of progress and chaos. Between a fragmented, increasingly unequal, restless and violent country and the peaceful and prosperous nation emerging as a new world power on the horizon of a new century, there stands a disillusioned humanity of one billion people still struggling to make ends meet. The juxtaposition of freedom and unfreedom is both frightening and inspiring. The main burden of this article is to signify the construct and contents of social reconstruction in the context of postcoloniality and its imperatives.
