Abstract

In this chapter I will concentrate the discussion on three aspects of social policies: (i) new approaches to the welfare system; (ii) changes in the incomes policies in the 1980s; and (iii) price policies in connection with redistribution of real incomes. The largest part of the chapter, however, is devoted to the discussion of new approaches to the welfare system. Other aspects of social policies in Poland, especially the social welfare system narrowly defined, will be discussed by Z. Fallenbuchl in Chapter 6. Such a division of the subject matter is not accidental. We have divided beforehand the field of inquiry between us.
