Abstract

Social network, such as, Facebook, Twitter, Microblog, and WeChat, has millions of users, many of which have happily combined these sites and their daily practices. The social network platforms above support their users to connect with each other based on shared interests, political views, or other activities. Therefore, social networks will be a big market which can be explored and exploited for steganography. In this paper, according to social network behavior, we proposed an audio steganography scheme based on the time length of WeChat voice message, which utilizes the time length of voice message to represent the secret information. Based on such a social network behavior-sending a specific length of voice message, the secret message is successfully sent to the receiver secretly. Qualitative analyses show that our method has a good ability to resist statistical analysis and fault tolerance. The result of experiment indicates that the sender and the receiver can complete the transmission of secret information in a WeChat group. Although our method is simple with low capacity, it may open a new window for social network behavior-based steganography research.
