Abstract

In recent years, social media sites is playing a vital role and becoming ubiquitous and important for social networking and content sharing. Many libraries in the United States have been embracing the use of Social Networking tools to enhance services to library patrons.Libraries have to implement a wide variety of these tools like Face book, MySpace, Ning, Blogs,Wikis, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Flicker, Library Thing and so on which indirectly results in a better promotion of the Library services thus adapting their users ‘needs and increases the number of users of information resources.
