SOCIAL MEDIA CONTAGION: A PARALLEL PANDEMIC?

Abstract

This session aims to facilitate the following learning objectives: 1) to review the literature about mental health contagion and compare and contrast the phenomena we are seeing currently with tics, ASD, and dissociative identity disorder (to name a few) with suicide and self-harm contagion; and 2) to share our clinical experiences with these phenomena, identify the gaps in our knowledge and training, and propose next steps for child and adolescent psychiatrists.
