Abstract

This analysis uncovers the roots of social justice leadership in the field of educational leadership. Social justice leadership intentionally seeks to disrupt power and systemic inequities rooted in oppression, discrimination, and prejudice. Specific attention is placed on understanding key terms, such as social justice, power, and oppression. Prominent theories and frameworks to social justice are also explained, such as intersectionality, critical theory, critical race theory, anti-racism, feminist theory, and queer theory.
