Abstract
AbstractThe beginnings of Chinese research on the history of geology coincided with the founding of the institutions for geological research in the country. Research on the history of geology in China can be divided into three phases, each of which served a different purpose. This article analyses the methodology used and the subjects investigated in this field of research. The defects in the approaches used in the work of some scholars are indicated and strategic directions for future studies are suggested.
