Social Criticism In Drama Script Of Matahari Di Sebuah Jalan Kecil By Arifin C. Noer

Abstract

The purpose of this research to describe the forms of social criticism of poverty, crime, and organized family in the life of the Pegulen public contained in the drama script Matahari di Sebuah Jalan Kecil by Arifin C. Noer. The kind of this research was descriptive-qualitative with the sociology analysis approach to literatur. The data sources of this research is dramascript Matahari di Sebuah Jalan Kecil by Arifin C. Noer. The data research in the form of dialogue characters(phrase, clauses, and sentences), narratives, and behavior characters in dramascript which is related with the purpose of research. Data colletion process is done with the note taking technique in the form of close reading, identiification data, and marking. Data analysis technique using hermeneutic techniques such as: (1) grouping data, (2) describing data, (3) analyzing data, (4) making a conclusion, and (5) writing reports.The result of this research is showing a form social criticism in the form of poverty, crime, and disorganizationfamily. In this case, seven forms of social criticism such as:First, social criticism of difficult to get a basic needs. Second, social criticism of lack of income. Third, social criticism of form of hunger. Fourth, social criticismof corruption. Fifth, social criticism of fraud. Sixth, social criticism of lies. Seventh, sosial criticism of family crisis. Based on this, illustrated by the social criticism found in people's lives with the welfare of the Pegulen community.
