Abstract
The theoretical lens of feminist family therapy is used in this critical review of the literature concerning mothers who are in recovery from addiction and their ongoing stigmatization by society. The author's goal is to look at the issue of ‘motherhood’ as it has been constructed historically; how mothers on drugs are viewed by society, and the current policies and practices that result.
